Are there planes with airfare discounts for 50 and over?

I have a friend who is 50 and wondering if there are any airlines that give a discount for someone so young!

No, most major airlines no longer offer Senior discounts. There are a few but mostly for people over 65. Southwest is one of them in the US. But most airlines offer the same fare no matter the age. A 2 year old will pay the same fare a 72 year old will.

Sometimes.
You only need to be 50 to join AARP.
They had a deal with US Airways on the Boston/DC shuttle for a while, which was over 50% of the regular unrestricted fare.
I had to be very “discrete” when checking discounts fares for someone who looked “close” to 50 years old.
Deals come and go, so check with AARP to see who they have a deal with.
