Saturday, February 7th, 2009Find Really Cheap Airfare and Other Ways to Take a Cheap Vacation to Hawaii
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008Ah, Hawaii. A vacation paradise! Have you always dreamed of taking a family trip to Hawaii but need to stay on a budget? Imagine clear tranquil blue water, lying on a hammock, lounge chair, or a beach towel and enjoying the warm tropical sun and gentle ocean breeze (sounds so cliche but it is so true). And umbrella drinks of course, something nice and fruity. What could be nicer and more relaxing?Sound expensive? Well, it doesn’t have to be anywhere near as costly as you thought. Even though Hawaii is a notoriously expensive travel destination, with some research you can find some deals for the budget minded and hold onto more of your cash. Let’s check out some tips on getting really cheap airfare and how to spend some time in Hawaii with as little pain to your pocketbook as possible.First, you have to get there, so let’s explore some different ways you can find inexpensive airline tickets. You’ve probably heard of the discount air carriers such as JetBlue and Southwest, and often you can find great deals with these airlines. However, what you may not know is the major airlines, due to problems of late such as bankruptcy, are actually making an effort to undercut the prices of some of the cheaper smaller carriers. So don’t automatically cross the larger companies off your list right off the bat. Check their websites and see what kind of deals they are offering.I recommend checking with the larger online travel sites such as Expedia and Travelocity, but don’t assume that just because you have checked there, all other travel sites will offer the same airline fares. The lowest fares may be at another site so check as many as possible. And of course, as I mentioned, check the individual airline websites as well. Fares are always changing, remember to try different times of the day and different days too.You can use a travel agent at a physical location (as opposed to online) to help you look for deals on hotels, rental cars, etc. Often they have package deals available that can save you a bundle.Scheduling your trip for the off season will help you save money. Don’t worry, the weather will still be gorgeous! You might consider finding a travel message board or forum and ask local residents to give you some advice on the area you plan to visit. They will know what hotels are the cheapest, where you can go to eat for less money, and lots of fun and often free activities. Forums like this are gold, do use them! Now, once you have secured your airline travel tickets for a cheap price, how can you enjoy this vacation oasis without taking out a second mortgage?Choosing to plan your trip to Oahu has a great advantage in that public transportation can be found to pretty much anywhere on the island. This can save you a bundle because you might decide to forego a rental car.Once you arrive, you can take in free nightly hula shows at Kuhio Beach in Waikiki. They often also show free films in the evenings on the beach. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is another great tip for how to travel cheap. Here you can find some more freebies as they offer free lessons in hula dancing, ukulele, and lessons on how to make a lei. They will also provide lesson in Hawaiian quilting. Now where else can you learn things like this without spending a dime? Great fun.If you choose to save money by not renting a car, you can save by taking the bus everywhere, or you can rent a bike for about 20 bucks a day. If you do rent a bike and need to take the bus somewhere, you can take your bike along with you on the racks of the city buses. Cool huh?Remember that if there are decent waves, the surfers will be out, and most any day you can find a surf contest going on. For the cost of some sun screen you can enjoy some absolutely amazing tricks and performances put on by the surfers. This is an extremely fun and inexpensive way to spend a day in Hawaii. On Saturday there is a farmer’s market at the Kapiolani Community College. This is a super way to soak up local culture and find some local produce and crafts, and you can find some spectacular deals here too. It’s a great place to save money on all those souvenirs you need to bring back home to friends and family. You know they’re expecting something! You can find cheap eats here too, or you can even just wander around and people watch. So if you have always wanted to travel to Hawaii but had no idea how to find really cheap airfare, take advantage of these tips and you can have an awesome dream vacation to this beautiful state without spending too much cash.

Finding Cheap International Airfare Online
Saturday, July 26th, 2008There are hundreds of websites out there that offer cheap airfare deals. These websites can also be called online consolidators who will help you out in locating the cheapest airfare possible to your destination location. Finding the best site out of these is sometimes a difficult task because each one of them keeps on adding new features and new deals. In this article we will discuss some of the most popular of these websites so that you do not have any difficulty exploring the Internet for cheap airfare.
If you want to travel to Europe, Goo Flight, 1800flyEurope, Expedia and Sky Scanner are some of the sites you should check out. Goo Flight is a popular search engine that covers around 16 airlines and 35 countries including France, Italy, England, Spain etc. You will be able to find direct flights as well as multi-step cheap flights here. You can easily search for a discount flight by entering your source location, destination location and the date of departure in the search field. There is a separate link for low cost airfares on the site that will take to a page containing phone numbers for inquiry.
1800flyEurope is a similar cheap airfare search engine that lets you enter some additional information regarding your flight such as number of passengers and fare type (either round trip or one way). You will be able to buy not only tickets but also hotel and car packages. These packages are normally available as last-minute deals and they come very cheap. There are different rates for different seasons so you can search cheap flights for winter, summer and spring. Germany, Italy, France, England and Spain are some of the countries listed on this site.
Similarly Expedia and Sky Scanner are two of the most popular online consolidator sites and they offer a lot of cheap deals regarding air tickets and hotel accommodation packages. If you want to travel within the US, cheapflights.com, lowestfare.com and discountairfare.com are some of the sites you would like to check out. Bootsnall.com/internationalairfare/usa/ is a popular site for finding cheap international airfare for travelers within the US. You can also find domestic flights here. There are different deals for different cities. The best thing about these websites is that you can not only search for cheap airlines but can also book your flight by calling them from anywhere in the US.
These sites also tell you some advice on finding cheap airfare for a particular destination. Most of the time tickets bought for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the cheapest of all. Also, sometimes it is cheaper to travel to the nearest city instead of taking a direct flight. Holiday seasons are peak times, so if you wan to travel in peak season try to book as early as possible. These tips and others will help you in selecting the right deal at the right time in order to save a great deal of money on airfares.
Cheap Airfare
Cheap Airfares in Europe, not so Much in America
Friday, July 25th, 2008Getting cheap airfares these days isn’t so easy, especially if you live in North America.
Meanwhile budget airlines are booming elsewhere in the world. In Thailand for example, you can fly from Bangkok to Phuket for about 30 dollars on Air Asia, a relatively new budget airline. And of course in Europe, you have airlines like Ryanair that offer incredibly cheap airline tickets between many European cities. You can go from London to Paris for fifty bucks, as long as you don’t mind having no preselected seats and a very strict weight limit.
Those types of discount airlines haven’t really made it over to this side of the pond. Still, with companies like Jet Blue etc you can find some decent deals, especially if you buy plane tickets early; or take advantage of last minute deals. In Mexico recently we’ve seen companies like Azteca Airlines, Volaris, and Interjet attempt to replicate Ryanair type of budget service; with varying degrees of success. In Canada cheap flights are very hard to come by. There’s basically nothing in the domestic market…internationally, Zoom Airlines has just started offering cheap flight to Europe. Otherwise you may get lucky if you’re traveling when a charter is.
With the web, shopping for air fares is easy. There are any companies selling plane tickets on the internet. From the comfort of your chair you can surf many different web sites until you find the best fare possible. This is power that only travel agents had just a few years ago!
Carefully check out exchange and refund policies - sites like Expedia for instance are known to be quite strict in that area. Most online air ticket sales use E-tickets - typically the company that sells you the tickets just emails it to you. Print it, bring it to the airport and have a safe and stress-free trip!
Cheap Airfare To Hawaii or Florida Is Almost Easy To Find
Friday, July 25th, 2008The Internet is your best choice to find cheap airfare to Hawaii or Florida. The net includes numerous websites that give you the latest updates on airfare prices. All you have to do is click the mouse a few times and you will know the latest prices.
One way to get your ticket is directly from major airline websites. Most of these airlines will have special deals on Hawaii flight from time to time. Certain days will have better deals than other days. Be sure to check the airline websites between two or three times a day so that you do not miss these great deals. They will sell quickly once they are announced.
There are three major travel websites that can make the search for cheap airfare much easier. Orbitz, Expedia, and Travelocity all have deals with airlines to give special prices to consumers. The prices will most likely vary on each website. Make sure you check each of the websites and find which one suits you best.
Another great group of websites are those that use search engines to automatically search all the travel agencies are airline websites for you. They will display and compare all the cheapest fares from every website. This is about as easy as it gets.
Last but not least is Priceline.com, which uses a more unique method of interacting with the consumers. As the consumer, all you have to do is enter the price that you are willing to pay for the ticket. They will do the rest, including calling and searching everywhere to find a ticket at the price you quoted. The only downfall to this method is the ticket is always non-refundable. Make sure you pick the right date and that there will be no changes.
Check all your options and you will find cheap airfare to Florida. There are some low budget airlines that cut the extra comfort featured in some major airlines so they can cut the price.
If you must have the comfort then you will surely want to search all the major airline websites and check their prices. Special deals will appear every once in a while from the major vendors. These are usually available around two weeks in advance of the flight. Make sure you get them as soon as they are released.
Keep checking back on these sites regularly and wait for the special deals. They go quickly once they come up. Regularly means at least twice a day, maybe three times a day.
After this, search all the big travel websites. They operate similarly to travel agencies where they actually give part of the profits to the customers. They normally include a chart that compares all the different prices offered by websites.
Another choice is to use websites that constantly monitor the lowest prices and regularly mail the updates to members. You must become a member of the site to use these features. You could also try some phone calls to some of the travel websites. This proves to be a luck of a draw game depending on who you talk to, but you could end up talking to an official of the site and they may be willing to give you a special deal.
Then there are the websites that let you put your own price. They do all the work for you to get your ticket for the price that you name. Usually these tickets will be non-refundable no matter if the flight does or does not work for you.
So, you have a lot of options. Choose your own adventure.
